＜Career＞
Motohiro Tanji: Born in Okayama Prefecture. After graduating from Keio University, he completed his MA in Knitwear Design at Nottingham Trent University in the UK, graduating top of his class. Following graduation, he worked at Acorn Conceptual Textiles in the UK, which supplies knit textiles to various fashion houses. He launched his own knitwear brand, “Motohiro Tanji,” presenting his work at events like Tokyo Collection. He currently creates artworks utilizing his unique knit textures. He pursues complex, three-dimensional expressions achievable only through knitting, which he calls “knit sculpture.”

2018: Awarded Bronze Prize in the sculpture category at Salon des Beaux-Arts (Paris)
2019: Selected as representative at Independent Tokyo 2019, an art exhibition hosted by tagboat
2020: Began exhibiting works at an art gallery in New York
2021: Responsible for knitwear production as stage art for the Paralympic Closing Ceremony
