We’ve made bags using two colors, beige and chocolate brown, but starting this season, we’re introducing raffia bags in chocolate brown only!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What exactly is chocolate brown?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most people think raffia is beige, but that’s the color after it’s been bleached (Surci bleaches it with plant-based oxalic acid). Chocolate brown is the deep chocolate color you get when you dry it without bleaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An amateur might think that raffia yarn that is simply dried without bleaching would be less work, but if it is not dried properly, it will develop black spots or turn a greenish brown. To make chocolate-colored raffia yarn, you have to pay attention to the weather, the drying method, and the degree of drying, which takes a lot of effort, so it is more expensive than beige raffia yarn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
