Across the sea to Cebu Island~ Feelings poured into the painting✨<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Two years ago, a couple and their daughter visited my studio in Cebu.
The husband paints as a hobby, but he holds solo exhibitions and is more than just an amateur\u2014he’s practically professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’d heard he was painting about his feelings from his stay in Cebu after returning, but the painting I saw at the group exhibition where it debuted was a massive 100-inch canvas\u2014far too large for display in an ordinary home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What will you do with this painting after the exhibition? Keep it in the studio. What a waste! I suggested displaying it at the city hall in Calcal City, Cebu, where the workshop is located, so everyone could see it. Before I knew it, the painting crossed the sea to Cebu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unveiling ceremony at Carcar City Hall 😉<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During my recent stay in Cebu, I transported a painting that had arrived at Manager Em-em’s house to City Hall for a simple unveiling ceremony!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I presented the painting in the City Hall office in front of the Mayor, Vice Mayor, the Mayor’s secretary, and everyone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The title of the painting is SULCI ANGELS.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sentiment behind the artwork is that Surcy’s work contributes to a brighter future for children, and expresses the hope that the world will remain a happy place for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist, Kiyokatsu Sato<\/strong>, created the artwork with the hope that Sulci’s endeavors will contribute to a brighter future for children and that the world will remain a happy place for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The painting’s subject features two young women (knitters?) at its center\u2014one holding a Surci tote bag, the other holding a crochet hook. The girl charm attached to the bag also appears in the background.
The rooster in the lower right was a fighting cock kept in the knitter’s garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope this painting will forever accompany Surci, continuing to be cherished by the local community in Cebu’s Calcal (though Surci transcends Carcar to reach the world!), while inspiring dreams and vitality in women.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
