On August 15th, as part of JICA’s Thematic Training Program “Promoting Women’s Business and Entrepreneurship in Africa,” I attended a networking event for women entrepreneurs. There, I interacted with ten African women entrepreneurs (from Angola, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Congo, Sudan, and Senegal). I gained insights that could be useful for doing business in the Philippines as well. It was a stimulating day in many ways, different from Asian countries like the Philippines.

I participated in the networking event and could really feel everyone’s passion for their businesses—their enthusiasm was palpable.
Everyone was so energetic and proactive! It was a pleasure talking with them.

Perhaps someday this connection will transcend borders and bear fruit in some new way.
